Sequins, Chambray, and Cheetah...

Since school has started I have been crazy busy. Normally I am at school all day and then I go to work at night. So because of that I have become a master of switching accessories to transition throughout my day!

I always start with a basic, comfy outfit that can be dressed up or dressed down. Since the chilly fall weather has started, I have been layering every day. This particular day I was going to school but I had to go on an ecology walk all around campus so I knew I wanted to wear comfy shoes. But I wasn't about to break out my gym shoes for the day so my handy dandy cheetah print sneaks kept me fashionable and practical. And obviously for school, I used my cute black backpack that is normally just full of snacks. Then, when it was time for work, I slipped on some cheetah print heels and traded out my backpack for a satchel purse which also is full of snacks.

I think it is so fun changing a look with just accessories! It took this look from fun and causal to fashionable!

Fall Fashion Featuring Jordan from Poised and Petite!

I am so excited to finally introduce you all to the incredibly talented blogger behind Poised and Petite, Jordan! Not only does she have amazing style, but she is such a sweet girl too! Not to mention she has her own fabulous wedding and event planning company, so all of you Texas gals go check out her website here

Today we teamed up to show you how we styled one of my favorite fall items, boots! Jordan took on the over the knee boots and I went for my everyday booties. I love Jordan's boots and the best part is the are on sale at Forever 21, does it get any better than that?!

For my look, I went for my comfy, everyday booties from the best place on earth, Target! I have been obsessed with pairing vests with sleeveless tops and dresses. It makes the outfit fall appropriate without being too hot! I love my fur vests so I will take any excuse to wear them. And of course I had to put a hat on, I mean is it possible for me to go longer than a day without wearing a hat? But for real, this hat will probably be on my head everyday in the winter. I love my straw hats but something about the felt just makes my heart smile.

My favorite part of this outfit are the layering necklaces from Simply Lovely Handmade. I have talked about these necklaces before, but I just can not stop wearing them! They go perfect together and compliment every outfit. If you love to layer, go visit her site!

Thanks so much for reading and don't forget to head over to Jordan's blog for amazing style and fashion and lifestyle tips!

Neutral Classics...

Wearing white jeans after Labor Day is about as rebellious as I get. I love white in the fall because it makes such a clean crisp palette and it brightens up all of the boring fall colors. In the fall, white goes perfect with soft neutrals like grey, tan, and blush. They bring the outfit more together than just regular ole blue jeans.

I literally will be wearing this hat for the majority of my life for the next 7 months so I appoligize ahead of time for being boring and not mixing it up at all. But I am just obsessed with it, what can I say?! It is the perfect shade of tan and the absolute perfect shape for a fall hat! Not to mention it goes perfect with my favorite booties (from Target FYI).

So, break out those white jeans and be a rebel!

Stripes on Stripes...

These are probably my absolute favorite shorts ever. They are the perfect cut and the neutral colors match everything. I wish I could have them in every color and style! I have worn these shorts so many different ways, but this outfit might be my favorite.

Mixing stripes is always my favorite look but, there are some simple rules so that you don't look like a looney that just escaped from prison. The most important is to make sure that the sizes of the stripes vary. Since the shorts have smaller, thinner stripes then the bold stripes of the shirt, it breaks up the outfit and doesn't look like a jumpsuit!

Don't be afraid to mix those stripes!

Pink, Pink, and Maybe Some More Pink....

Shocker, I am wearing more pink. The addiction is real y'all. But I just love how such a fun bright color amps up a basic silhouette. If this dress was in white or black, it would still be cute, but the pink color brings it to a whole new level. It makes a basic dress stand out.

I kept the pink theme going pairing the hot pink dress with light baby pink accessories. Basically, I just wanted to wear my new light pink necklace so I thought what the heck, we will just keep everything pink! My new thing might be headbands though. I have always been obsessed with hair accessories from pre-wrap in 7th grade, to bows in high school, and the this summer flower crowns and hats took over my wardrobe. But then I went to The Loft and loved all the jeweled headbands so I scooped up a bunch. They will probably replace my flower crowns for the winter months, but don't worry, my hats are here to stay!

Light Ruffles...

Okay seriously New York?! We've had a chilly summer and then bam, right when I'm ready for fall weather you decide it would be a great time for a heat wave?! Not cool. But since it was so hot I ended up wearing an outfit I really liked!

Since it was 95 degrees outside, I wanted something really light and flowy. So I went in my closet and picked out the lightest things with ruffles and together it was a match made in heaven. It was just so fun to twirl in!

To accessorize, I kept it light and simple since you don't want to be bogged down with jewelry when you are sweltering. So I just went for a simple arm candy stack and white sandals. My favorite were the layering necklaces from Simply Lovely Handmade! They are so dainty and light it was absolutely perfect for a hot day! The necklaces add the perfect amount of bling without overpowering the sequins on the tank top! The jewelry at Simply Lovely Handmade is so soo gorgeous, everyone needs to go check it out!

Have a great rest of the week!

Southern Charm

Even though I have lived my whole life in upstate New York, I feel like I have some southern style running through my blood. I have always loved southern customs and style, not to mention that adorable accent. So when I had an interview for a retail company known for their American roots, I knew I wanted to infuse some southern style into my outfit.

For me that southern style consisted of a full midi skirt and a tied up gingham shirt!
There was just something about this that screamed southern to me. To top it all of,  it threw on a big ole hat and called it a day!

I hope y'all have a great day!
