Cool Blues

The best part about this jumper is how versatile it is! Over the summer I wore it simple with white sandals, but once you put a blazer on it easily transitions to fall! The cools blue tones made me want to play up the easy, cool vibe of the jumpsuit. I thought the best way to do that was a chunky braid, funky necklace, and bright raybans! To keep the focus on the jumpsuit and off of my feet I just paired it with simple white heels which also brightens the outfit up.

Girly Layers

I think my obsession with layers this fall is getting out of hand but I just can't stop. This is my favorite way to transition a summer dress into fall. There is something so girly and classic about a button up under a summer dress!

The embroidery on this dress is gorgeous so instead of taking away from the design, I chose a solid neutral color to go underneath. The deep red color is the perfect compliment to the soft peach in the dress. I will be doing much more layering with summer dresses! 

Long Layers

I may be going a little layering crazy this fall, but how can you not?! Ever since I saw Aria on Pretty Little Liars wear a long sweater with a dress, I wanted to wear a long sweater with a dress. I love it with this denim dress because with the collar popping out and the light denim color, it makes for a perfect early fall dress! 

The key to this look is the length of the sweater and dress. If the dress is too long it is really easy to look sloppy. To keep it polished remember to have the sweater cover most of the dress with just the bottom peaking out.

Girl Meets Boy...

Even though I love to be a girly girl, I still have a little bit of tomboy left in me. I am such a sucker for baseball shirts and this one from Gap is the perfect combination of girly and tomboy! I played up this mixture by pairing it with boyfriend jeans. The boyfriend jeans lended itself to the tomboy vibe while the heels and necklace made the whole outfit more girly! This is one of my favorite combinations to wear!

Lake Life...

Okay, not my best idea to wear a floppy hat by the lake. During the process of trying to take pictures it flew off at least 10 times. But, the hat totally made the look so it was worth it. We went and spent the day at Skaneatles Lake which is just gorgeous. There is a cute little town and shops right along side the lake. 

I kept my outfit very simple but girly for a fun day of brunch and shopping. In order to look modern while wearing a midi skirt, you have to show some skin up top! It is all about proportions! I'm not saying to be a sleezeball, but it it okay to show some skin if your legs are covered. Since it was freezing and windy outside, I wanted my arms covered as well so I opted for an off the shoulder v-neck sweater. Just by showing my shoulders and chest, it offsets the length of the skirt keeping me from looking like I just walked out of the 1950's! 

Remember your proportions! 

Fall Maxi....

Fall is all about the layers. It is cold in the morning, hot during the day, and freezing at night. Oh the joys of living in upstate New York! Jean jackets and scarves are perfect to accommodate for the crazy weather. They keep you warm when its cold but when you get warm they are easy to take off.

This maxi dress from Gap is the perfect fall maxi. A basic silhouette in my favorite color for fall means I will be wearing it all the time! Even though I wore it very casual for school, you can dress it up with a fur vest and heels!

Texture Overload

These pants are the comfiest ever, I love that "joggers" are in! Especially since they are in velour, it is incredibly easy to dress them up like this or to pair them with a tee shirt, booties, and denim jacket for a casual look. There are so many different variations of joggers that there really is a pair out there for everyone! They are perfect for running errands or long work days.
