A Rainy Date Night...
It is not the easiest to pick out a date night outfit when it is cold and rainy in summer. Summer is suppose to be the time to bear your skin, not shield it from the rain! But, Mother Nature got the best of me so I ended up dressing for the elements, but greatly liked the results.
Since it was my "date night" I went with the classic little black dress. And then to counteract the weather, I wore this Jane Goodall jacket. It makes this strapless black dress more appropriate for a dinner date in the middle of a monsoon. To keep it from looking like I was a zoo keeper, I added a belt and a sparkly necklace to make the outfit have a little more pizzazz.
This outfit was a winner for date night getting the nod of approval from the boy.

Black and Cognac
It was a neutral color palette for work this week. These probably are my favorite shorts because they are high rise and there is an invisible side zipper! This outfit is all about the detail, with subtle pattern mixing of the textured polka dots and stripes in the shorts. The cross body Dooney and Bourke bag fits perfectly in with the color scheme, and I found it in my grandma's basement! With a quick swipe of a leather wipe it was as good as new!

Red, White, and Blue Outfit Ideas...
I love wearing my red, white, and blue! These outfits are perfect for if you are going to a barbecue or heading to see some fireworks. Both of these looks are appropriate for the holiday without being tacky or over the top. The key to that is picking red, white, or blue to make the standout piece. After that, accessorize with the other colors!
I love the classic, American girl white dress for the fourth. Something about it just screams American and barbecue to me! And then for the other outfit, I think gold fits right in with the color scheme. When I wear gold it just makes me think about winning gold at the Olympics! Always go for gold!
Have a great Fourth of July!

I Eat Glitter For Breakfast...
The new breakfast of champions: glitter! I can't even tell you how many people stopped and asked if I actually ate glitter for breakfast (most were very confused middle age men) This shirt is so perfect for anyone with an obsession with glitter like me!
Since the silhouette of the shirt was edgy, I paired it with this white skort from Forever 21. The skort has the perfect balance of edgy and sweet which pairs perfectly with the cut off tee! Its two of my favorite pieces in one outfit. I wore this out shopping in Tampa and it was the perfect outfit to take on the heat in!
