Curse of the Hunters

I sincerely believe my hunters are cursed. Every time I wear them when it is suppose to rain, the sun comes out! I can't tell you the amount of times this has happened to me! I love that the sun comes out but it gets a little annoying when I'm out and about in the sunshine with rain boots on! There could be a 100% chance of rain, but if I put my hunters on it will not rain. I still am obsessed with everything about my hunters so I will forgive them for making me look stupid.

I love wearing my hunters to pop pink in outfits, so these shorts had the perfect pink in them. To make it even brighter, I paired a neon green palm leaf print button up with it. Talk about bright. I just loved the leaf print with the flower shorts so I made the obnoxiousness work ;) And of course I had a hat to go with it! The blue in this fedora from Target matched the shorts perfectly. Which means I had to wear the hat!

I hope you guys have as bright of a day as I did!

Mad Hatter

Okay. It's official... I'm obsessed with hats this summer! I am so amazed at how they just make an outfit! I probably will be wearing one every day this summer. The classic fedora is my favorite everyday one since it goes with most everything, but I love a big floppy sun hat too!

This girly combination of lace and linen makes my life. It's perfect for this time of year! Even though I normally don't like wearing black in the summer I felt like the material made it seasonally appropriate. To keep it lighter I paired it with my light pink bag and wedges which helped make it more summery. The material and accessories matter a lot when wearing dark colors into summer!

Tough and Girly

This past week I was living the model life. I was able to model clothes for the boutique I work at. Since we are known for formal dresses, we wanted to put our sportswear section in the spotlight at a girls night out event. Once I heard about the event I automatically knew I want to wear this floral moto jacket that I have had my eye on since we got it in! The silhouette of the jacket is really tough, but the bright floral print makes it just girly enough.

To help play up the girliness even more, I paired it with a fit and flare navy dress. Since the dress was tight under the jacket and then flared, the proportions were perfect. Then, to keep the jacket from being to over powering, I pushed up the sleeves which even played up the edginess! To brighten everything up, I paired it with bright yellow accessories.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

White Out

Literally I don't think I can possibly communicate how much I want a romper. They are so cute and easy to throw on when you don't feel like putting an outfit together. But, I have yet to find a romper to fit my body. The rompers either are wayyyy too short or they don't even reach my shoulders. Life strugs.

So instead, I decided to make my own romper. One of my favorite summer trends is white on white, so I paired high waisted loose shorts with a white cami. I just love how it looks like a romper since they are the same color! Since the white on white can be bland, I spruced it up by mixing up the textures. The shorts are linen and the cami is satiny. It is an unexpected way to break up the look and dress up the casual shorts.

I kept the accessories neutral as well. This slouchy white bag from Nine West fits perfectly into the casual white theme! To dress it up a little bit I went with white jewelry. I didn't want to do white shoes since the attention should be on the outfit so the nude works perfectly.

Funky Minnie Mouse

Polka dots, frills, and a bow?! That's my definition of a perfect dress! This dress is from Shop Dandy, and I am obsessed with it! It is a great, easy throw on dress that you can still look put together in. It makes such a fun statement- you really do feel like Minnie Mouse!

Since I was going out to dinner I paired this dress with heeled sandals and a clutch. I literally have been living in these white sandals, not only do they match everything, but they are so comfortable as well! To keep the funky vibe going, I used my absolute favorite Kate Spade clutch. It is a newspaper! It is so realistic my grandfather tried to read it thinking that it was his paper. Granted, it doesn't fit very much in there, but I can suffer through only bringing one lipgloss instead of my usual ten for the cuteness of the bag!

Summer, Seahorses, and Seersucker

It is finally feeling like summer around here so that means seersucker and nautical prints! I just love how the pink seersucker and blue seahorses go together. Even though I love the classic blue seersucker, pink seersucker is just so cute and girly to me, it definitely is my favorite. I wore this summery outfit for a quick day of running errands and getting my hair done.

I have also decided that hats are going to be my "thing" for the summer. They look great with loose beach waves or a side braid when you're having a rough hair day (which occurs a lot for me) It always amazes me how a big floppy hat can just transform an outfit. Without this hat, the outfit is cute but pretty basic, the hat just takes it to the next level. It really makes a look!

Even if you think you aren't a hat person, just try some different varieties on to see what works best for you! Not every hat is going to be perfect, but once you find "the one" it will be life changing.

Black Tie

I was such a proud sister this weekend! My older sister Alli was honored at the ARC Gala for her part in the fundraising efforts and "exemplifying all of the good characteristics that you would want in a community." It was an amazing event, Alli even had her portrait painted by a speed painter! It was absolutely incredible!

My mom, sister, and I all got our dresses at the BCBG outlet. We were in and out of there within a half an hour. All of us fell in love with our dresses immediately! It is so ironic that we all got black dresses since all of us love color! It did make for some pretty cute pictures though ;)

Since my dress was pretty simple, I decided to play up the edginess of the deep v neck. I totally forgot to take a picture of the back of my hair, but it was a messy fishtail bun. Then I had long gold earrings and a really cool gold cuff.

I was so proud of my sister for being such an inspiration to so many people!
